We’ve had wind, we’ve had rain...how about we try them both together, and perhaps we should cover ourselves in plastic bags?!
Another early start – well it would have been if we hadn’t have had to spend 30 minutes with 3 of us fixing a puncture! – we left the picturesque town of Tours, well almost left; Garmin had the lights on but no one was at home. We spent 5 miles going around in circles before getting back on route.
Lovely French countryside my arse, we didn’t see any of it, wind in our faces, rain all over the Vaseline (not at all like a night backstage with Priscilla Queen of the Desert). We forged through the rain and wind as best we could.
The sun began to shine and so did the hospitality, we steamed like a freight train into the town of Vicq-de-Gartempe and were pleased that a local landlord was willing to open shop for us to enjoy a beer and a feed. “Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once....” Thanks Renee!
